Description: The existence of fossils in Lebanon recurred to six centuries during the sixth crusade (1248-1254) only after one century from this date, until we arrive to the 19th century, emission of the first scientific explanation of fossils in Lebanon especially in Hakel.
It was with the scientist Docroni de Balanavel the researches was proceeded after this date, in addition to this, the scientists declared that it was about hundred millions years ago. Rizkallah Nohra established the exposition of fossils in Hakel, in 1991. Mr. Rizkallah Nohra gathered and grouped all kinds of fossils in Lebanon especially in Hakel. He worked and searched a lot during years to collect, classify, categorize and expose these fossils in
Expo Hakel the first exposition of fossils in Lebanon.
Expo Hakel regroups more than 350 species of fish and invertebrate and more than 600 piece of collection and a gift shop outside the museum in a small room, where the visitors can buy some souvenirs.

Admission for students (schools) is LL1,000 and they can watch how we find the fossils inside the stones.

Expo Hakel is open seven days a week

Opening Hoursfrom 9AM-5PM in winter and until 7PM in summer.
