El Rancho Sports Club Launches the “The Cedar Stampede Rodeo:Are You Ready?”
EL Rancho, has launched its 2nd Annual Cedar Stampede Rodeo and Wild West Festival, the only International Western Competition in the Middle East, taking place from August 26th to Sept 4th 2011 in its Western eco/bio touristic resort. This exceptional Event is under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Opening Ceremony took place on Friday 26th with the presence of many important personalities such as Dr Ziad Mansour , representing H.E Mr Faysal Omar Karameh, Minister of Youth and Sports and a number of Embassies delegates among which American, French and Mexican embassies.
In his speech, Mr. Paul Naimeh, Chairman and General Manager of El Rancho Resort and President of El Rancho Sports Club warmly welcomed the audience and H.E Minister Karameh and extended his thanks to all those who supported the festival, namely the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Tourism, and all the main sponsors of the event. He also thanked the media high presence and highlighted the importance of the press constant participation and coverage in all the club events.
Mr. Naimeh then introduced the 10 nations that are taking part in the event including the United States, England, France, Italy, Mexico, Indo American nations, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon as well as all the competition games such as Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Steer Stopping, Team Roping, Team Penning, Pole Bending, Mounted Shooting, Wild Cow Mugging.The tournament are held over the weekends on August 26th 27th 28th and on September 2nd 3rd and 4th intersected by the annual Wild West Festival that will include horse shows, fashion shows, music and environmental competitions. Throughout the festival, Extreme Warrior Competitions will be present on the program.
Dr Ziad Mansour, representing H.E Minister Faysal Karameh, seized also the opportunity to apologize for the Minister’s absence due to an important reunion in Tripoli. He also confirmed the presence of H.E Mr Faysal Karameh at the Closing ceremony onSunday, Sept 4th.
He highlighted the main factors behind the success of this Rodeo competition.
1) El Rancho outstanding and enchanting place as well as the beauty of its natural, authentic setting 2) The competition rallying aspect, Lebanese people from all sides gathered to take part in this event. Countries like Syria and Lebanon are playing side by side.
3) The Lebanese Youth, strength of our country, is gathering for a better common future
He also emphasized on the fact that Ministries with the strong support of H.E Faysal Karameh, are going to intensively support all El Rancho activities in the future since it has become a big asset to the Lebanese and their country.
Mr Naimeh ended his speech by awarding Dr Mansour EL Rancho Trophy and thanked again all Ministries for their strong involvement and sustainable efforts throughout the years especially H.E Minister Faysal Karameh.
